Danzer Vinterio Is Now Fully Transparent

First Health Product Declaration For Technical Veneers

Darlington, Pennsylvania, January 2016. Research shows that wood in interior spaces adds to people’s well-being and can e.g. reduce stress. A new Health Product DeclarationTM (HPD) for Danzer’s Vinterio range of sliced wood surfaces reassures that these products can be used safely. HPDs report the materials and ingredients content of a building product and the associated health effects. With this information available, specifiers and end-users can select these materials with confidence. An HPDTM for Danzer Linea is also about to be completed.

The idea of the Health Product DeclarationTM was born in 2010. Since the project’s realization in 2012, a wide range of goods have completed HPDs in support of product transparency. The HPDTM is beneficial to consumers who want a healthy product to understand potential impacts associated with material ingredients. The HPDTM gives full disclosure of health impacts associated with Vinterio’s added ingredients – demonstrating that the Vinterio wooden surface is a product with no hazardous ingredients. “Danzer products are made from sustainable wood; we continually work with our supply chain to reduce any impacts associated with pigments and glues. The natural wood and the glue’s composition have now been disclosed. This will make it easier for our customers to make well informed decisions”, says Eckart Schmitt, CEO of Danzer’s Specialty Division.

By participating in the HPDTM program Danzer makes potential hazards associated with ingredients of all Vinterio products known. “We are continuously monitoring our processes and optimizing our technology. In the future more Danzer products will complete HPDs”, says Eckart Schmitt. “Last year, we published an Environmental Product Declaration for Danzer Veneers. A Health Product DeclarationTM for Danzer Linea will soon complement this effort.”
