Westside Shopping and Leisure Centre in Bern, Switzerland, is an urban scale architectural project completed by Architect Daniel Libeskind. The 55 shops, 10 restaurants and bars, hotel, multiplex cinema, indoor water park with wellness center provide a meeting place for the whole greater region of Bern. Extensive window cuts in the façade create a web of natural light inside and a panoramic window for the food court. Gently curved wood panels frame an undulating light band that serves as ambience lighting. Danzer 3D-Elm Veneer allows the wood grain to elegantly follow the curvature of the panels.
