Lumber from North America

A perspective view between two towering, narrow stacks of hardwood lumber in a drying facility.
Slow-dried. Custom-dimensioned. Architectural. North American hardwood lumber – sourced in exceptional quality, extraordinary lengths and thicknesses.

Dimensioned for architecture and interiors

A floating solid-wood staircase. A dining table whose legs are the design. A 16 feet run of White Oak with no joints in sight. Projects like these don't begin with standard dimensions. They begin with what the wood itself makes possible – and what serious work requires.

This is not the hardwood you find at a building supplier. It is solid lumber in lengths up to  16 feet and thicknesses from 4/4 to 12/4, sourced from trusted US sawmills and dried in our own facilities at Shade Gap, Pennsylvania. From Ash to White Oak, from Black Cherry to Yellow Birch.

Drying hardwood at these dimensions is where most operations stop. Move too fast and the boards check, cup, or split. Move correctly and you get stable, predictable lumber that behaves the same way ten years from now as it does on delivery day. Worldwide, only a handful of operations still do this work at this scale. We are one of them.

Rare specialty veneers
Specialty veneers from responsible origins across North America – grown slowly, selected carefully. We work with the species below most often, though the list is shorter than what we can actually source.

Your specifications, our expertise

Responsible sourcing

Wood that has grown slowly, accumulated density over decades, and been selected for unusual length, uncommon thickness, and consistent quality. Responsibly sourced across North America.

Individual dimensions & processing

Thicknesses from 4/4 to 12/4, surfaced to customer specification, available in random widths. This includes RTW lumber (Ripped-To-Width) and S2S components.

Sorting and preparation

Sorted by color, width, and grade – with customer-specific lumber preparation on request. All NHLA grades available.

Volume programs

Mixed loads across species, grades, and thicknesses. Flexible supply that fits your production schedule.

Sustainably sourced

All our North American hardwoods are legally and traceably sourced. FSC® and PEFC™ certified options are available depending on species and origin.

Why work with Danzer

Drying expertise

We slow-dry thick stock and challenging lumber – including 8/4, 10/4, and 12/4 – preserving integrity, minimizing movement, producing material that stays true.

Steaming for consistency

We steam all our Black Walnut for color consistency.

Reliable quality

Tight grading and consistent quality control keep variation low and processing predictable.

Simplified procurement

Mixed-load shipping, comprehensive inventories, and customer-specific preparation reduce the effort of buying.

Close to the source

Processing happens near where the wood grows. That saves time, cuts cost, and reduces environmental impact.
