Specialty Wood Products Market Analyst

Position duties:
Understand market dynamics and develop methods and models to understand potential for our specialty wood products across residential and commercial markets. Travel to various markets to gather first-hand information by visiting architects, builders, and companies that undertake specialty projects for commercial or residential buildings. Use the finding to shorten the value-chain while improving the company market position. Analyze housing statistics and develop a process to understand the relationship between housing/commercial building starts and demand for specialty wood products. Research the US import and export of hardwood products and determine the share of DVA total US exports. Provide the data to relevant managers in the company who could devise strategies to improve Danzer position where it is not strong. Conduct time to time economic and market potential of certain countries and share the findings with the management team to develop strategies to avail the opportunities to improve the company position in those markets. Analyze the parcel report of logs produces for specific purpose and share the knowledge with the management team to develop strategies to satisfy customer demand. Support the economic evaluation of infrastructure projects throughout their lifecycle. Develop demand and supply models for specialty wood products and determine the scope of specialty products developed by Danzer in the marketplace. Estimate and assess key indicators to the team to successfully introduce specialty products into the market. Analyze and provide an opinion on market, technical, and economic risks and mitigation alternatives. Provide strategic project management leadership through all internal and external processes across the project lifecycle. Develop, update, and manage the project plan associated with specialty products. Implement project management tools and methodologies to manage key specialty product introduction into the market while understanding the scope, cost, schedule, quality and risk. Coordinate specialty product project risk management in close collaboration with team members and other project stakeholders such as the VP of Sales and Marketing as well as the EVP and President of Operations.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Economics or a related field of study, and three (3) years of experience in a related position in the Forestry industry.
Must have any experience with or knowledge of: specialty wood products market analytics; US Import/Export laws; SAP (enterprise resource planning system); supply chain management including inventory, procurement, logistics, production planning, and bill of materials; experience operating CRM for sales, marketing, and customer service; and experience with Lotus Notes.
Rate of pay:
$95,000 per year
The employer will pay or exceed the prevailing wage, as determined by the U.S. Department of Labor.

Additional information:
Domestic and international travel required up to 60% of the time based on customer and company needs.
